WHITINGS HILL SCHOOL
Whiting Hill Primary School was one of the first schools within the Barnet area to benefit from the government led school development program.
The project involved the relocation of the school into a brand new architecturally designed building which in addition to an increased capacity and state of the art facilities including a new sports hall and swimming pool complex also included numerous “green” and energy saving features such as solar panels, wind turbines and rainwater collection tanks.
Our works on the project comprised of apx 250 square metres of external glass canopies creating a continuous covered walkway providing sheltered access around the building to all classrooms.
The glass was a clear toughened and laminated composite, supported on a series of steel columns and glue lam beams with steel box section supports running between. The glass was secured in place by custom made stainless steel stand off bolts.
