Project: Conrad Building, Shad Thames
Saper Glass are pleased to announce that they have been selected to undertake the replacement glazing works on this unique project. The grade 2 listed Conran Building is the former offices of Conran and Partners and are being refurbished to create new office space. Our primary works are the refurbishment of the original glazed sliding doors, present on both the front and rear aspects which provide ventilation and in some cases access out to individual metal balconies. Many of the glazed units have broken down and need to be replaced. With this system the panels need to be fully disassembled to do this which need to be a factory operation meaning the panels need to be removed from site. Access in and around this site is very challenging so we will need to use the appropriate specialist lifting equipment in order to deal with the safe removal and re-installation of these panels.

Project: Abbey Quay, Barking Riverside
Abbey Quay is a large residential development that is situated very close to our works and we were approached regards a requirement for an all glass feature façade to the “hub” which will provides residents with various amenities including concierge services, parcel collection, communal lounges, and versatile workspaces. The façade is planned to be an impressive 20m wide double height assembly which is to be formed as a frameless double glazed bolted assembly supported by glass fins. We have proposed the use THERMOSPAN to create this façade. Double glazed bolted glass systems normally need fixings to pass through the unit with a visible fixing on the front face, Thermospan’s double glazed system is different as it has an innovative fixing detail on the inner pane of the units which allows them to be fixed from the rear of the façade providing a clean, flush external finish.
